J.R. Shore hit the road in January 2013 to celebrate the official release of his great 2CD set "State Theatre", which has one disc of originals and one disc of cover tunes.
Here's one of each: his award-winning "Poundmaker" plus a cover of "Smokey Joes' Cafe" performed live at the Twin Butte Store as he and the band kicked off their CD release tour.
Well, it's been a long time coming but a full duo album from Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell was released in late February. "Old Yellow Moon" contains new original songs and some great covers along the way. For me the disc was well worth the wait and hopefully it won't be a one-off. John Fogerty on David Letterman performing "Mystic Highway", the lead off "single" from "Wrote A Song For Everyone" and returning the following night with Dawes, one of many special guests on the album.
